Your new role

Responsible for supporting the Senior Design Engineer in the development of innovative equipment for the Waste and Recycling Industry. The Design Engineer will assist in the development of innovative equipment for the Waste and Recycling Industry from proving the concept through to design, prototype, manufacturing and commissioning. They are also responsible for ensuring the high quality standards are maintained to exceed customers’ satisfaction.

 

Salary negotiable based on experience.

 

Duties and Responsibilities
• Proficient in the use Solidworks design.
• Ability to complete projects from concept design through to onsite testing ensuring a high standard of Quality Control is achieved throughout.
• Assist in the development of in-house quality control standards and procedures.
• Ability to work alongside the team in concept design for the development of new products and solutions for modifications to existing product ranges.
• Ability to research and implement global standards such as CE / UK certifications.
• Contribute to the reduction of manufacturing costs through the implementation of improved designs.
• Interface with other staff and teams on design, productions and purchasing.
• Liaising with the Senior Design Engineer, Senior Technical Engineer and Ecohog sales network to provide required drawings.
• Site visits to measure and survey existing equipment when required.
• Consideration of material, manufacturing process and fitting efficiencies in design.
• Preparation of Technical and Operational Manuals for equipment.
• Knowledge of logistics and transport legislation globally.
• Stay familiar with competitors, legislations and market trends to ensure equipment is innovative and fit for purpose on a global scale.

 

Qualifications

• Related Engineering Degree or equivalent in Engineering

Skills

• Related Engineering Degree or equivalent in Engineering
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role
• Proficient in Solidworks
• Design experience in a machine manufacturing capacity desirable
• Knowledge of the waste industry and applications desirable

Hours of Work
8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday
