Leading the way in the supply of innovative equipment, providing effective solutions for the waste wood sector. Ecohog’s UK distributor, Warwick Ward secure equipment contract with the UK’s number one supplier of biomass fuel, Stobart Biomass Products Ltd. In a fast paced industry, Stobart Biomass Products Ltd, are tasked with supplying 2 million tonnes of fuel to Energy Recovery Facilities. The end goal is generating renewable energy comparable to the annual domestic electricity needs of 2% of the UK public.
To meet the supply demand, Stobart Biomass Products identified the need to produce high quality biomass wood chip with target specs including minimum fines and oversize. With a proven track record in waste wood recycling equipment Ecohog Ltd and Terex Ecotec provided the perfect combination of equipment for Stobart Biomass Products to meet the high tonnage rates required whilst maintaining the level of quality specified. The fleet of machines have the ability to operate high levels of throughput with minimal downtime ensuring Stobart Biomass are maximising product whilst reducing operational costs.
Warwick Ward demonstrated how the Terex Ecotec TDS 820 Slow speed shredder, TDS V20 medium speed shredder would achieve the required size of material with minimal fines feeding the Ecohog Mobile HogMag Eddy Current (THM ECS-2000) to tackle the ferrous and non-ferrous metal contaminants within waste wood material. Achieving the high grade woodchip product ensures the biomass burners operating at a maximum level of efficiency.
The number one supplier of biomass fuel in the UK
Aaron Whitrow, National Site Manager for Stobarts Biomass Products said, “Warwick Ward worked closely with us to create mutually beneficial equipment and service level package that meets our specific needs. This included guaranteed through-put, a dedicated engineer, high level of internal training and on-site consignment stock. Producing high quality fuel that meets our customers’ specification is of the upmost importance to us. Therefore, we needed a solution that could achieve this whilst reducing running costs across the whole process. We’re delighted to identify significant savings using the Ecohog and Terex set up, compared to our previous outgoings in wear parts and machine running costs per tonne.”
Achieving a high quality biomass wood chip
Tristam Hubbard-Miles, Ecohog Global Sales Director said “Ecohog are delighted to have worked with Warwick Ward to secure another high profile Biomass processor contract in the UK. Our Mobile HogMag Eddy Current (THM ECS-2000) is a well-established solution to adding value to the process. By recovering valuable non-ferrous and ferrous metals, and other contaminants whilst also removing them from the biomass to protect the downstream boilers. We have no doubt the overall mobile solution chosen by Stobarts will enable them to achieve ultimate efficiency and production output whilst ensuring onsite flexibility and safety. We look forward to supporting the ongoing relationship between Warwick Ward and Stobarts in the future.”
James Tunnicliffe from Warwick Ward commented, “We knew the machines were capable of achieving the targets required after already having both Terex Ecotec and Ecohog products in other blue-chip companies. I believe this shows confidence, not only within Warwick Ward, but also the manufacturers. This has proven our concept worked, and would work well going forward in the biomass industry. It’s been a pleasure to build such a great relationship with Stobarts.”
