50th Anniversary Of Earth Day

50th Anniversary Of Earth Day

Today marks the 50th year anniversary of Earth Day!

The theme this year for the 50th anniversary of Earth Day is Climate Action, which is extremely challenging. Climate change represents the biggest challenge to the future of humanity and the life-support systems that make our world habitable. Earth Day first began on April 22nd 1970 as a response to an environment in crisis with oil spills, smog, rivers so polluted they literally caught fire (Earth Day, 2020).

This year, today April 22nd Earth Day is going digital due to the worldwide pandemic we are in to celebrate its 50th anniversary. There will be live streamed discussions, global digital surge and 24 hours of actions and it is important that we can all join in to help change our lives and world forever.

Earth Day is important to the ethos of Ecohog as we supply equipment to the waste and recycling industry helping the planet all year round through protecting the planet from pollution by reducing the amount of rubbish being sent to landfill making a profitable end product. Ecohog’s product range is used in many ways to clean and recover valuable materials from waste.

Ecohog encourage everyone to think about their impact on the environment and have consistent small steps to improve what we do in our daily lives especially in managing our waste and minimising our travel.

Join Ecohog by visiting earthday.org today as it marks the 50th year anniversary of Earth Day Live, this will provide advice on how you too can help our planet in the future and help build Earth Day Legacy. #EarthDay2020
