MRF SEPARATION OF CONTAMINATES FROM GLASS

MRF SEPARATION OF CONTAMINATES FROM GLASS

With the processing of co-mingled recyclables at Materials Recovery Facility
The glass product, which is separated, is generally heavily contaminated small items due to the methods of separation within the sorting system such as plastics, paper, packaging etc. The Ecohog windshifter can be used to clean up the glass product using air separation, providing there is a difference in density the Ecohog can remove the lighter containments from the heaver glass products which cuts down on landfill cost and the heaver glass product can then be further processed. See the following example of glass separated by the Ecohog Windshifter.

1) Contaminated MRF glass

2) Separated Heaver Glass product
